www.icq.comICQ stands for "I-Seek-You" You can find plenty of people (ICQ users), as well as 'freestuff' links from this site.
www.yahoo.com'nuff said, it's the world's most famous search site (they offer free e-mail too).

www.geocities.com3Mb of web space, offers CGI (not the actual cgi-bin, just workable codes) and all that stuff.
www.fortunecity.comHas pretty much everything (or equivalent) to what Geocities has to offer. It's a bit busy at times, but hey, 10Mb is worth it.
www.xoom.comEazy to remember URLs, great graphics and cliparts (largest archive Pete has seen so far), and 11Mb of web space. They just had to go the extra megabyte to please everyone.
